Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) sets out conduct that is prohibited on GEO Scanner (the “Service”). It supplements and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Scope of scanning
The Service is intended for scanning sites you own or are authorised to assess on behalf of a client or employer. You may not:
- use the Service to scan a third party’s site without a legitimate business reason to assess it (for example, unrelated competitor surveillance at scale);
- submit URLs that point to non-public, internal, or credentialed pages you do not have the right to access;
- run automated, bulk, or high-frequency scans that circumvent our rate limits or are intended to scrape the Service’s output at scale for resale.
2. Prohibited conduct
Whatever your use case, you may not:
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, clone, or resell the Service or its output without our prior written consent;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service’s own infrastructure except through a coordinated disclosure to [email protected];
- circumvent rate limits, abuse controls, or access controls, or use another user’s account or API keys;
- use the Service to facilitate an attack against a third-party site (e.g. using scan output as reconnaissance for an unauthorised intrusion);
- use the Service to harass, dox, or threaten any person.
3. Reporting a violation
If you believe a scan or other activity on the Service violates this AUP or applicable law, write to [email protected] with the subject line “Abuse report”, including the URL or account involved, a description of the issue, and any evidence you can share. We aim to acknowledge credible reports within 5 business days.
4. Enforcement
If we determine, in our reasonable judgement, that a user has violated this AUP, we may suspend or terminate the account and, where applicable, cooperate with law enforcement. You may appeal an enforcement decision by writing to [email protected] within 15 days of receiving notice.
5. Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
